Principal DevOps Engineer - Prague

Automat-IT is looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team and help us create leading-edge technology solutions for our customers.

We seek a technical leader to help us work with potential and existing customers and our AWS technical counterparts. Ideally, experienced in designing and deploying cutting-edge applications optimized for scalability and performance.

As an essential part of our team, you will be involved in both the business and technology aspects of our engagements and will serve as the technical spearhead of Automat-IT.

Location: Prague

You have:

  • Cloud-based System Architect experience

  • Experience with pre-sale activities

  • 2+ years of Team Lead/Tech Lead experience

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes

  • Experience with Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)

  • Configuration Management experience (Puppet, Chef, Ansible)

  • CI experience (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub actions, Argo Workflows)

  • Experience with version control systems (Git or similar)

  • Deep Linux OS knowledge

  • Network troubleshooting and configuration skills (DNS, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP)

  • Scripting skills with either Bash, KSH, Python

  • Understanding of SDLC

  • Hands-on experience with GCP/Azure is a plus

  • Advanced English language proficiency

  • Strong & confident communication skills

  • Team player


You will:

  • Work closely with business and engineering leaders to drive improvements for existing and new projects

  • Manage and supervise the DevOps teams in collaboration with DevOps Manager

  • Implementing security, DevOps and architectural best practices for the company and projects

  • Research of new DevOps technologies and cloud services (mainly AWS)

  • Works as a System Architect with an existing SA team or solo

  • Gathering customer’s requirements and suggesting groundbreaking technologies to mitigate issues
